MEDICAL DIRECTOR, AGA PATHOLOGY LABORATORY

Anil Prasad, MD is board certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology as well as in Cytopathology.  He completed his AP/CP residency followed by a Fellowship in Cytopathology at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit MI. Additionally, he did a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.

Dr. Prasad has been practicing General Surgical Pathology & Cytopathology for more than 30 years. Dr. Prasad was involved with several clinical research trials and was the PI of several federally funded clinical and basic research grants. He was Director of the Division of Surgical Pathology & Cytopathology at the VA hospital in Tucson and Vice- Chair of the Dept. of Pathology at St. Mary’s hospital, Tucson.

He is proficient in signing out all disease entities pertaining to all organ systems with special expertise in Gastrointestinal Pathology, Digital Image analysis and Telepathology. Dr. Prasad has had extensive experience as Medical Director of several regional independent and hospital based laboratories.

He is the current President of the Arizona Society of Pathologists and President of Arizona Diagnostic Pathology Associates, Tucson, AZ. He has a joint appointment as Associate Professor of Pathology at the Univ. of Arizona Health Sciences Center and is a Consultant Pathologist to Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Care Center, Tucson, AZ.
